Classic No Bake Cookies
Chocolate No Baked Cookie Recipe
Share this delicious no baked cookies with your family and friends. It’s a classic cookie I grew up with as have many. The recipe may have some slight variations, but they are delicious and rich.
Making these no-bakes does not take a lot of time. They only take 1 1/2 minutes to boil, then mixing the ingredients and dropping the cookies onto the tray. The longest part is letting them cool, so you don’t burn your mouth (and you will be tempted, but don’t).
What Ingredients Are Needed?
- sugar
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- butter, salted or unsalted butter
- evaporated milk
- quick oats
- vanilla extract
- regular peanut butter (can also use crunchy peanut butter)
- Monster eyes (if making for Halloween!)
What Kind of Milk Is Used?
The classic recipe calls for evaporated milk. If you want, substitutes like almond milk or coconut milk can be used.
What Size Sauce Pan Can I Use?
The cookies need to come to a full rolling boil. You want to allow the cookies to do this, without having to turn the heat down. I would suggested at 3 quart sauce pan if you have it or a medium sauce pan (2 1/2 quart at the least)
Can I Use a Baking Sheet for Cookies?
Place parchment or wax paper on a baking sheet before dropping cookies. You can also use paper on the counter, you will need approximately 2 baking sheets.
Halloween Monster Cookies
Turn the cookies into monster cookies by adding eyes, brains and bones or other treats.

- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups quick cooking oats
Instructions
- Measure out the oatmeal and peanut butter and have the vanilla on hand to pour quickly. Also have parchment paper ready on counter. Set aside and prepare next ingredients.
- In a large pot mix the sugar and cocoa together.
- Once sugar and cocoa are mixed, turn on heat to medium and add in butter and evaporated milk.
- Stir together on medium heat and bring to a boil. A boil that you cannot stir down. Set a timer for 1 ½ minutes, stirring the entire time.
- Once time is done, remove pan from the heat and add in the peanut butter and stir together.
- Add the vanilla and stir and then add in the oatmeal and stir completely together.
- Working quickly, place drop cookies with tablespoons onto parchment paper. Repeat process until all the mix is used.
- Allow the cookies to dry, cool and set before eatting. Store left overs in airtight container.
Easy and fun. I love no baked but never thought of doing any decorating.
Just a little bit can turn a cookie into a themed one. Thanks for stopping by.
