why you need to visit the Branson IMAX: Dinner Movies & Shopping
On a recent trip to Branson Missouri for a blogging tour, we were invited to stop at the Branson IMAX Entertainment Center, McFarlains and Montana Mike’s. There is more to the Branson IMAX than movies. This is an entertainment complex that you could spend the day at and not be bored.
enjoy Montana Mike’s Steakhouse
We were lucky enough to enjoy lunch at Montana Mike’s Steakhouse they are known for their steaks. We were treated to our choice of their sirloin burger, soup or salads. It all looked delicious. They make their own hamburger buns. The buns were soft and delicious and cooked on the stove top to give a crunch when you bite in. They have fabulous onion rings. I highly recommend them! If you are not a steak person, no problem here. They also serve chicken, seafood and pasta.
Be sure to stay for dessert too. We enjoyed a homemade apple crisp that had delicious apples and topping that was so good.

Stepping inside the Branson Imax, it is more than movies. There are 17 stores for shopping! We found a store that carries a variety of clocks one with socks. We explored an As Seen on TV store too. There were kiosks as well selling some beautiful items and a store with some rustic items (I could have taken the entire store home).
We were lucky enough to get to watch the Rocky Mountain Express movie at the IMAX as well. It is the largest IMAX Movie screen too! The color was beautiful. Before the movie started, there was a preview that walked through how movies started out, adding color. You then got to hear how the sound has changed as well. It was wild. Going to an IMAX movie, you are brought into the middle of it with the sound and imagery. The movies change, so be sure to see what movies are available.
fun at McFarlains Family Restaurant
We ate at McFarlains Family Restaurant. McFarlains is exclusive to Branson. They serve homemade pies and fabulous Ozark cuisine including soup, sandwiches and salads in a unique relaxing atmosphere. We got to taste some of their delicious fried green tomatoes. I had not tried fried green tomatoes before, they were delicious. We also sampled their sweet potato fries, again delicious. I ate their hot roast beef sandwiches served with homemade mashed potatoes. I could have licked my plate. They have may made from scratch desserts. The made from scratch apple crisp does not disappoint.
For fun, ask to sit at the fun round table. It slowly goes up while you are eating. Until it’s about at your chest. Want it down? You have to sing! Great Ozark fun for sure. How long will it take before your friends notice it’s higher?

During Christmas, you can find Santa at the Branson IMAX! We did not see him while we were there (he is there on Saturday and Sunday), but it was decorated for Christmas.
There are also several live shows here to see as well. Watch The Petersons, the George Strait Tribute, to Glen Campbell Songbook and George Jones and Friends Remembered, to name a few. You will find something your family will enjoy with so many options.
