Easy Layered Taco Dip Recipe

When you have an event where you have to bring a dish to pass, you don’t always want to make a hot dish, in the hot weather.  You can make a simple an easy layered taco dip.  No heating up your house.  You can pull this together in 30 minutes and you are ready to serve.

Wanna make this layered taco dip for a big crowd? Just double the batch.  Serve with tortilla chips.

This would be a great recipe to for work, shower, birthday or any food party.

As an alternative, you could put ground beef as a layer next to the refried beans.

What Ingredients Are Needed?

  • refried beans
  • softened cream cheese
  • salsa
  • sour cream
  • lettuce
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • chopped black olives
  • tomatoes chopped
  • tortilla chips

How Spicy Is This Taco Dip?

The taco dip is as spicy as the salsa you use. If making for a party, medium or mild might be best. You could also serve jalapeños on the side so people can decide their spice level.

Can This Be Made Ahead of Time?

Yes and no. You don’t want the dish to become soggy from the tomatoes and lettuce. We recommend if needed to make in advance, putting the refried bean and sour cream layers in the pan. you can chop your other ingredients up and have them bagged and ready to pour on top when you are ready to serve or leave.

Easy Taco Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 can refried beans
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup-1 cup black olives chopped
  • 1-2 tomatoes chopped into small pieces you can also use part of a can of drained diced tomatoes
  • tortilla chips

Instructions

  • In an 8×8 baking dish, take the can of the refried beans and spread it out on the bottom of the dish.
  • In a bowl, mix the sour cream, cream cheese and salsa together. Spread on top of the refried beans.
  • Break the lettuce into small pieces and spread evenly on top of the salsa mix.
  • Note: cutting lettuce with a metal knife will cause it to wilt and turn brown quickly
  • Sprinkle the cheese on top of the lettuce, then the tomatoes and black olives.
  • Cover and place in the fridge until you are ready to serve.
  • Serve with tortilla chips to dip with.
