Fantastic and Delicious Fruit Dip

Are you looking for a dip for fruit that is not complicated?  This is your simple fruit dip.  And you just might have all the ingredients in your fridge to make this easy brown sugar fruit dip.  It’s delicious and with just 3 ingredients, you can whip it up, set it aside and chopped your fruits and other dishes for your event quickly.

As the dip sits (in the fridge), the flavors with infuse together into a sweet and creamy dip. Before serving, you will want to make sure it is mixed well and that the sugar has dissolved. Don’t be surprised if you find your kids love this dip, so set aside some in a small bowl for them with a few strawberries.

What Fresh Fruit is Served With the Dip?

Serve fresh apple slices, grapes, orange slices, pineapple, bananas (dipped in lemon water), strawberries and kiwis. But really and fruits that you and your guests will eat are perfect to serve.

What Is In the Sour Cream Dip?

This fruit dip is made with brown sugar, sour cream and cinnamon. You can use dark or light brown sugar, either one will give a good flavor to the dip.

You can hand mix this dip easily in a bowl.  But if you prefer you can use a electric mixer or stand mixer on a medium speed.

What Can I Substitute Sour Cream With?

If you don’t have sour cream, you can use a plain greek yogurt or plain yogurt in it’s place and it will not effect the taste.

What Dip is Good for Dipping Apples?

Caramel is always a go to for dipping sliced apples. But a delicious fruit dip is perfect for your apple slices using this recipe. You can add in a few graham crackers sticks, fresh strawberries, peaches, bananas, berries and ginger snaps for dipping too. If you don’t have sticks, graham crackers in pieces work well too.

Does Fruit Dip Have to be Refrigerated?

When you serve this fruit dip, you should definitely store in in the refrigerator. You can serve it in a bowl with another bowl of ice underneath if it will be out for a longer period of time.

Fruit Dip with Sour Cream and Brown Sugar

Ingredients

  • 16 oz sour cream (that is the small container)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed brown
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix together.
  • You want to get the sugar to dissolve into the sour cream.
  • Once you have mixed, you can set to the side and slice your apples and other fruits.
  • Come back to the dip and stir again to make sure that it is blended well.

Notes

You can use a hand mixer or stand mixer if you want.  We found it a quick dip that using a spatula is just fine as the sour cream is not super stiff.
