Honey Glazed Ham with Pineapple
Honey Glazed Ham with Pineapple
One family favorite way to make ham is was brown sugar. But we have bee’s, so why am I not making it with honey more often? Today we made a honey glazed ham with fresh pineapple. It was so delicious. Fall apart delicious. I don’t know if it was the ham or the honey. But we are doing that again, and you should too.
Don’t forget to save the drippings for gravy!
Can You Use A Boneless Ham?
You can use a bone in or boneless ham to make this recipe. Either will work well and the leftovers (if you have any) will be full of flavor. Bone-In Hams are perfect for saving the bone and making ham and bean soup.
How To Make Honey Glaze for Ham
Our glaze is simple, 1/2 cup honey (if it’s thick, warm it up a bit) and 1 cup pineapple juice. We keep back a bit of honey, so we can pour it over the ham after glazing the first time.
How Long Does A Honey Glazed Ham Take To Cook?
We use a precooked ham and cook it at 350F for 2 1/2 hours.
For a large meal, I will start the ham prep and anything else that is going into the oven while the oven preheats.
I wrap potatoes (especially sweet potatoes) in foil for easy removal from the oven.
If needed you can make some items earlier or the day before (like bacon baked beans), and warm up before serving.

Notes
- We start the ham flat side down and when we go to baste, flip it on it’s side so that we can get in between the slices with the glaze.
- You can turn the heat down to 300F, but we don’t so we can get some crispy ham.
- If you don’t have fresh pineapple, pineapple rings and juice from the pineapple can work perfect.
- Turn left overs into sandwiches, scalloped potatoes and ham or ham and bean soup
