Looking for a pie that is quick and easy and doesn’t take a lot of time? This easy banana cream pie, is the pie for you. This pie should set for an hour to chill before serving so it stands up and looks nice.
It can be made quickly when you have a baked pie crust and you have a pie for your event or a quick dessert.

ripe bananas
box of pudding (banana, vanilla or coconut)
milk
baked pie crust
whipped cream topping
What Kind of Pudding Do I Use?
We typically use vanilla pudding. You can use also use banana, coconut and if you want lots of flavor, chocolate.
How Do I Keep Bananas Fresh?
To keep the bananas from turning brown, dip the slice bananas in lemon juice.
Can I Make Make Banana Cream Pie in Advance?
Banana cream pies do not have a long shelf life (a few days). Make at right before you need it so, you don’t have a soggy pie crust. Share extras with family and friends. Don’t add the whipped cream until its time to serve.
Is Banana Cream Pie Served Chilled?
Keep the cream pie in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve. You should serve chilled as the pudding will start to liquify if it gets to warm. This could effect the pie crust, making it soggy.
How Big Do I Cut the Bananas?
Cut the banana slices into 1/2 inch pieces and place onto the pie shell. We used 3 bananas to cover the entire bottom.

You can use vanilla, banana or coconut pudding
We use a small box of pudding for a 9″ pie crust
The bananas should be ripe, but not banana bread ripe
This pie does not have a long shelf life, so make it close to when you plant to serve it

Quick & Simple Banana Cream Pie
Ingredients
- 2-3 ripe bananas
- 1 3.4 ounce package of pudding banana, vanilla or coconut
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1 baked pie crust in pie pan
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the pudding per the instructions, stirring well.
- Cut the bananas into slices and place onto your baked pie crust. Add as many as you would like, leaving it covered well. Bananas are cut into 1/2″ pieces.
- Pour the pudding over the bananas.
- Put tooth picks into pudding and cover while pie sets in fridge.
- Let pie set for at least an hour, this will give good slicing.
- If desired, put whipped cream on each slice when serving.
