how to make stuffed pork chops
Making stuffed pork chops is pretty easy. You may have only made pork chops, in a pan, but baking them in the oven is super delicious too.
how can I save money on pork chops?
I’ve found that pork chops can cost $6.99 a pound. I instead will buy a pork loin when it is on sale (around $1.99 sometimes) and cut my own boneless pork chops from it. You may want to trim some of the fat off the pork loin to make them leaner. You can cut the entire pork loin into pork chops, or make other recipes, like pulled pork.
Make your stuffing however you like, we use store bought stuffing, to make things quickly.
Here’s how to make stuffed pork chops.
how to cook
Ingredients:
1 1/2 – 2″ thick pork chops
1 Tablespoon olive oil
stuffing (like you use for a turkey)
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1 can chicken stock
stick melted butter
about 1 cup water
salt & pepper
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F.
Take your pork chop and cut a pocket in the middle.
In a bowl, mix the stuffing, chicken stock, minced onion and butter.
Add the water a little at a time. You want the stuffing to stick together well.
Stuff about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of stuffing into your chop.
In a pan, add the olive oil to get hot.
Reduce heat to medium. Carefully place the pork chops on the pan and add salt and pepper to the pork chops.
Sear to brown the pork chops 3-5 minutes on each side (we are not cooking completely here). Carefully flip them.
Once cooked on both sides, place into a casserole dish and place the extra stuffing around the pork chops.
Cook for 30-35 minutes, until the internal temperature is 145F.
Remove from the oven once cooked and enjoy with delicious corn bread.
