How to Make Homemade Garlic Butter Spread
Homemade Garlic Butter Spread
Garlic great is one of those things where you either like a lot of the butter or you are wanting more or less garlic. So when I started making our own garlic butter spread, I was able to tweak it how we like it. With garlic, but not over powering. And depending on how thick you spread it on, determines how buttery you want your bread.
What Ingredients Are Needed?
- butter
- basil
- garlic
- Italian herb seasoning
- parsley
- black pepper
- loaf Italian bread
Can I Use Dried Herbs and Garlic?
This recipe is versatile for you to use what you have on hand. If you have dried herbs, use those. If you have fresh, you may need to use more as dried herbs are dehydrated and shrink (and more potent). Have freish garlic? use it! If you have dehydrated, use it. And if you have bottled or jarred garlic, these work great too. You will want to let your butter sit for 15-20 minutes so it has time to infuse with the butter, especially when using dried herbs.
How Much Can i Spread on Bread?
It’s not so much how much can you spread, but how much -should- you spread. It it just like buttering toast. Once the garlic butter melts, it’s butter with herbs on top of the bread. You do not want to have it on too thick, but just enough. I prefer to put enough on that it’s a little thicker than I would put on a grilled cheese sandwich.
Can Garlic Butter Be Frozen?
We spread the garlic butter on the bread and separate with parchment paper and freeze in a zipper bag.
