Visit Elsie Michigan’s Dairy Days Festival
You can find Elsie Michigan in the heart of Clinton County Michigan. Clinton County is a big agricultural farming community. As you drive into Elsie, you will notice there are lots of farms in the area. It’s only fitting that they have Elsie Dairy Days. It’s a tough town. Where else can you find a bull named Elsie permanently placed on main street? Elsie used to be a black Angus cow and was repainted. There is another cow, Daisy that you will see floating around in the parade. You can find Elsie located next to the Village town hall building downtown.
Depending on who you ask, it’s Elsie Dairy Days, Elsie Days, Elsie Dairy Festival. But it’s for sure in Elsie Michigan!
What is Elsie Dairy Days?
Elsie Dairy Days is held to honor of the Dairy industry in July. There are many activities, including a parade, hog roast draft horse pulls, live music and arts & crafts lining up and down the town.
Activities
At dairy days, there is a carnival set up downtown too for the kids to ride rides. I enjoy checking out the fair food and the craft booths. I always find something I just have to have. I’m a sucker for elephants ears too (you can make them at home also).
Dairy days has a lot going on during their 3 day event. You can’t forget the Dairy Dash. What is a dairy dash? It’s a 5K run (or walk) to raise money for the Ovid-Elsie High School Music Program!
There are many things for the kids to do. Have them be on the look out for cows on the loose. Be sure to look down. There you will find, small cows painted on the road during the festival. Too cute.
