Caramel Apple Nachos
Ingredients
- 6 small apples peeled, cored and chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- cinnamon tortilla chips like these
- caramel from the cooked apples or additional caramel like this
- vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- In a large pan, melt butter and cinnamon together.
- While butter and cinnamon melt, wash peel and dice apples into 1/2″ cubes.
- Add apples as they are cubed into the butter.
- Cook the apples until they are tender.
- Add the sugar.
- The juices will release from the apples and you will need to cook down until the sauce turns to caramel.
- Adjust the heat, so it is a medium-low and stir to keep the apples and sauce from burning.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly, enough so you can eat it.
- Arrange the cinnamon chips on a plate.
- Add the cinnamon apples on top of the tortilla chips.
- Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and top the ice cream with more apples and caramel sauce.
