It is often referred to as the “Roller Coaster Capital of the World.” With its thrilling rides and stunning views of Lake Erie, it’s no wonder why this amusement park is a must-visit destination for thrill-seekers and families. To make the most of your visit, we’ve compiled a list of insider tips that will help your visit to Cedar Point, be like a pro.

What Is There To Do At Cedar Point?

Halloweekends happens in mid September and only on the weekends. The park is decorated for Halloween and the are a few scare houses that are set up. Newest thing is the rock band that plays nightly as they are ‘stuck’ playing their last concert over and over. During Halloweekends kids can dress up (12 and under) and enjoy foam maze and lots of things the little kids will enjoy, including trick or treating (limited hours)

Tips To Know Before You Go
- If you want to enjoy the beach and the park, consider staying at Hotel Breakers. You have an entrance a short walk from the hotel, to the entrance right off the beach of Lake Erie.
- The park is now cashless. You can pay by credit card or bring your cash and within the park, there are machines to convert cash to card.
- Staying on property, gives you early access to the park, ask when you check in for details, it’s usually an hour early.
- You cannot bring food/drinks into the park. Food must be purchased inside the park.
- Wear light loose fitting clothing and comfortable shoes. It’s not the time to bring new shoes, you will be walking A LOT!
- Sunscreen is a must and if there is a chance of rain, bring an umbrella (they are sold at the park if you need one). Rain ponchos may be a better way to go and to carry.
- Bring an EMPTY water bottle to fill. It can get hot in the Summer and you will need to stay hydrated.
- Download the Cedar Point App for real-time ride wait times, show schedules, and a map of the park. Plus, you can use it to order food and drinks, saving you time in line.

Purchasing tickets online can save you time at the gate, and consider opting for Fast Lane passes if you want to skip the lines on popular rides.
Each ticket gets a QR code You can show this at the gate from your phone, or you can print out a copy. This will allow you to leave and return to the park the same day. You will need to have your pass scanned and your photo taken to link that QR code with a specific person. If you print out tickets, write names on the papers for easily identification of who’s is who’s.
