This may seem a little crazy, but hear me out.
Who wants to have the oven on in the Summer. Not me.
And who wants to wait for a baked potatoes to cook, when the rest of the meal is done. Not me.
Thus a slow cooker for your baked potatoes.
What you’ll need:
Potatoes (poked with fork)
Olive oil
Sea salt
Foil
In a bowl, place your potatoes. Take the olive oil and drizzle it over the potatoes.Lay out a piece of foil big enough to go around your potato. Toss the potatoes gently in the bowl.
Sprinkle salt around the outside of the potoates (to your liking)
Take a piece of foil big enough to go around each potatoe individually. Wrap the foil around the potatoe and place into the slow cooker. Repeat until all the potatoes are in the slow cooker.
Cook on high for 4-6 hours, or on low for 6-8 hours.
I will have to try this tip. We love bake potatoes and I normally buy the ones that you can make in the microwave. This seems like an easy and great way to make a whole bunch of taters at once. Do you know if this technique would work with sweet potatoes? I usually eat those instead of the high carb potato.
I have not tried sweet potatoes, but I’m sure they would do the same thing. Just be careful pulling sweet potatoes out of the crock pot, they tend to become very soft when cooked.
