Yummy Instant Pot Pork Chops with Cream of Mushrooms

Is it me or do pork chops take a long time to cook?  I’ve found when I make instant pot pork chops, I’m able to reduce the time by half, if not more.  Not to mention, no need to babysit them on the stove.

Cooking in the instant pot makes, in my opinion, some of the most tender pork chops we have ate. May this recipe become one of your favorite pork chop recipes.

I sear the pork chops right in the instant pot and then add the rest of the ingredients and close it, to get dinner on the way.  Serving with a side of mashed potatoes or biscuits makes the meal complete.

Where Do Pork Chops Come From?

Boneless pork chops can be cut from a pork loin.  Cut the chops as thick as you want (we suggest between 1-2 inches).  Trim off any extra fat (if you desire).  You can cut thinner pork chops, they will cook quicker.  The thicker they are, will require additional cooking time.

Buy a pork loin when it is on sale and cut it into pork chops, to save money.

Do You Need To Sear the Pork Chops Before Cooking?

Searing the pork chops carnalizes the meat and enhances the flavor.  Getting a nice brown crust on the meat enhances the flavor profile of your dish.  It also is visually appetizing.  You also get those delicious browned bits that will make your gravy delicious.

Do You Add Liquid to Your Instant Pot?
