Love to have a little cake now and then, but not an entire cake? Making an easy coffee mug cake is a great way to enjoy a slice of cake whenever you want.
This recipe easily takes 5 minutes to make and less to cook in the microwave. You can frost it with the cocoa frosting recipe or whatever is your favorite.
You don’t HAVE to remove it from the mug you can eat it right from there if you want.
Making Microwave Mug Cake

And if you make little cakes like this, think of the different things you can frost them to make cute little cakes like bee hives, dots (the candy), castles and more!
Place a tablespoon of semi sweet chocolate chips in the batter before making to add additional chocolate flavor. You could even substitute a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder for a tablespoon of espresso powder for a little kick.

Can You Bake a Cake Using a Microwave?
Yes! You can definitely bake your cake with the microwave. You want to make sure that you don’t overcook the cake as it will become hard and inedible. If you are unsure of the wattage of your microwave, check it a minute before the suggested cooking time with a toothpick to see if it is done.
How Long Does it Take to Bake a Cake in the Microwave?
A full cake can cook in the microwave in about 10 minutes. When the cake starts to separate from the side of the dish, it is almost done baking.
Does a Chocolate Mug Cake Need Baking Soda?
