We ‘doctor’ up our barbecue sauce to our liking (recipe below). You could also just use your favorite BBQ sauce, just add some water to it.
Cooking time is a little different for bone in or out, but listed below.
Ingredients:
6-10 beef short ribs, thawed
1 bottle honey barbecue sauce
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup yellow mustard
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
lemon pepper
Instructions:
Before making the sauce, I sprinkle lemon pepper all over the ribs in the instant pot.
In a bowl, I add all the ingredients (except the ribs and lemon pepper) and mix together. I then pour the barbecue over the beef short ribs and close the lid.
The ribs are cooks for 1 hour on the meat setting (or manual) if they are bone in. No bones? Cook them for 45 minutes. Let them do a natural pressure release.
Serve with baked potatoes and green beans or your favorite vegetables.
Barbecue Beef Rib Tips

- There will be a lot of grease after the ribs cook, you can ladle this off and enjoy the ribs.
- If you have trouble getting your ribs into the Instant Pot, try putting them on their side.
- Make sure your ribs are not frozen when you start. Room temperature is best for fall off the bone ribs.

Making them for dinner today, you said to use Lemon Pepper?
Yes, use lemon pepper on the ribs. If you don’t have it, you can use black pepper.
Well Lemon Pepper worked and I only made a few pieces since it’s just the wife and I, I used a jar of locally made BBQ sauce just poured it all in, this was so easy and really tender and tasty my sides were the green beans and a baked potato
