shortening flour

2 cups of flour
½ teaspoon salt
2/3 cup + 2 tablespoons butter-flavored vegetable shortening (can use regular shortening too)
1/4 cup ice cold water

forming crust
After shaking the bowl, the dough should be starting to form, like this.

In your bowl, add the flour and salt and mix. Use a large bowl with a seal.
Add the shortening and place the seal on the bowl (burp it).  Hanging onto the bowl and onto the seal, you will want to shake it until the shortening is incorporated together and is a course mealy texture.

Remove the seal and add the ice cold water and close the seal (burp again) and shake until the dough forms a ball (will make a thump sound).  If the dough doesn’t form into  ball, you can form it with your hand.
You can put your dough ball into plastic wrap and put into the fridge.
When you are redy for the dough, remove from fridge or freezer and let it thaw.
Roll out onto a floured pastry sheet.
Makes one 9″ pie crust.
