When making pecan turtles as a kid I remember my mom would make the caramel. We would then have to put into a mold and get the air out, lots of work. This recipe is easy and delicious turtles. When you don’t have a lot of time
patience, quick and easy turtles are perfect for a busy mom.
Easy to make pecan turtles
You should only make as many as you are willing to eat or quickly give away. These are addictive and delicious otherwise.
I found that putting them in the refrigerator after making them allowed them to set up quickly. You can then make the next batch.
These cost a lot less than purchasing them and would be pretty in a glass jar or a storage container with a bow on top!
mini pretzel or square pretzels
1 package of chocolate caramel candies (like Rolo)
1 bag of pecan halves
Preheat the oven to 325F.
On a baking sheet with parchment or a silicon mat, place a single layer of pretzels. (allowing some space)
Place an unwrapped candy on top of each pretzel.
Place the baking sheet into the oven for 2-3 minutes until the candies become shiny and start to melt.
Remove the sheet from the oven and place a pecan half on top of the each candy and press in, flattening the candy into the pretzel and securing the pecan.
Allow to cool before eating and packaging for gifts.
