Easy Halloween Rice Treats
Take a childhood favorite and tweak it a bit for the perfect Halloween treat. This rice treat recipe is perfect for parties and leftovers are perfect to put into lunch.
4 Tablespoons butter
6 cups crispy rice cereal
4 cups fresh mini marshmallows
orange food dye (about 8-10 drops)
In a pot, melt the butter. Once the butter is melted, reduce the heat and add the marshmallows, stirring until melted.
Add the food coloring and stir.
Add the marshmallow mix into the cereal and stir.
Wet your hands and stir together with your hands to mix the treats easier.
Once mixed, pour the mix into the casserole dish and press with a spatula into place, making as even as possible.
Shake your favorite sprinkles over the rice treats, to your liking.
Allow the treats to cool before cutting and serving.
We cut ours into pieces and place into individual bags, so that they can be taken to school as a treat in lunch. You could also display on a tray and serve at your Halloween Party.
- You can add red and yellow food dye to make red
- Have the ingredients ready to go as it comes together quickly
- Spray the casserole dish with non-stick spray
- You can add sprinkles into the mix while stirring, or just on top, your preference
