How to Make Beef Short Ribs in the Slow Cooker
how to make beef short ribs
We purchased beef from a local butcher and were able to make barbecue beef short ribs. We picked the slow cooker so they could could low and slow all day.
One thing we learned from these slow ribs, was the amount of fat on them. When we make them again, we will be trimming off excess fat. While fat is good to cook in, too much could make the dish greasy.
Once these are cooked until fork tender, you can serve.
For a second meal, we shredded one of the ribs meat and added a little more barbecue sauce and served on a bun. The hot dog buns were perfect, but hamburg buns will also work great.
Ingredients:
beef short ribs, thawed
1 – 16 ounce bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce
lemon pepper for seasoning
Instructions:
We use a slow cooker liner to make the mess easy to clean up.
If your ribs have a lot of fat on them ,consider trimming fat off.
Sprinkle lemon pepper all over the ribs in the slow cooker.
Pour the barbecue over the ribs and set to low.
Cook the ribs on low 6-8 hours until they are fork tender.
We made this in the weekend and turned them every couple hours as our ribs were huge.
Serve with baked potatoes and bake beans or your favorite vegetables and a side of corn bread.
