What Size Pan is Best for Texas Sheet Cake?

We use a 9×13 pan when we don’t have a quarter sheet pan. You want a pan with a lip, to allow the cake batter to rise. There is also a frosting that is poured on it, so you want to capture that as well.

Can I Use Milk Instead of Buttermilk?

You can. It may not be as rich, but still will be good. If you have lemon juice, you can add a tablespoon into your butter and let it sit for 3-4 minutes to make buttermilk.

Can I Make a Vanilla Sheet Cake?

You can. Don’t add the cocoa powder. You can add additional vanilla if desired.

Can I Add Chocolate Chips to the Batter?

Absolutely. This will give a great chocolate taste to the cake. Also add mini chocolate chips on top of the frosting.
