Homemade Spiced Ice Cream
Do you love ice cream? Ever want to spice it up a bit? You should try this spiced ice cream. It is great alone and taken to a different level when you add in bananas foster.
This is really easy to make, you’ll wonder why you haven’t made your own homemade ice cream all along. You can substitute the spices for fruits if you want to have a fruity ice cream instead. The combinations are endless.
This recipe makes enough homemade ice cream for 2 people, maybe more if you want to share.
Ingredients
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
large pinch of ground cloves
Instructions:
In a medium bowl mix the heavy whipping cream, vanilla, sugar. You will want to stir to incorporate the sugar. It should no longer be grainy or have sugar at the bottom. You should be able to feel that with your spatula.
Once mixed, you can add the nutmeg, ginger and cloves. Stir well. The spice should be evenly mixed throughout the ice cream mix.
Take the bowl and pour the mix into a a freezer safe contain that has a cover. Seal the container and place in a level place in the freezer.
Allow the ice cream to freeze for 2 hours or overnight if you can. You will want it to be frozen, but not rock solid. If it’s rock solid, you’ll have to allow it to thaw to soften it up.
Serve your spiced ice cream with bananas or on it’s own.
