Ingredients
To Make Salsa
- 1 medium onion or 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 15 ounce can diced tomatoes can use 2 whole tomatoes
- 1 jalapeños pepper
- 1-2 tablespoon chipotle seasoning
To Make Chipotle Seasoning
- 3/4 Tablespoon paprika
- 3 Tablespoon ground cumin
- ½ Tablespoon garlic powder
- 3/4 Tablespoon chili powder
- 3/4 Tablespoon dried cilantro
- 1 2/3 Tablespoon onion powder
- 3/4 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/3 Tablespoon salt
Instructions
- In your food processor, start by chopping your hardest ingredients first. Cut your onion in half (after removing the ends) and quarter and place into chopper.
- Cut into a large chop size 1 inch in size.
- Cut your jalapeños pepper, remove the ends and remove the seeds (or leave in) depending on how spicy you want it. You can also put in part of the pepper.
- Add into the chopper and chop again until desired size of onions.
- Place into a bowl and add your seasoning (more seasoning if you want more spice) and diced tomatoes.
- If you are chopping a tomato too, it should be chopped last after removing the core and it should be cut in quarters.
- Allow the salsa to sit so the flavors infuse.
- This can be served as a side as chips and salsa or you can place on top of your tacos, nachos and buritos for additional flavor.
