What Are Parmesan Chicken Bites?

We make chicken parm bites like we make pigs in a blanket, but with chicken and cheese. You can use breaded chicken or grilled chicken with parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese. Don’t forget the marinara sauce for dipping.

Can I Use Frozen or Precooked Chicken?

You can use either, whatever is your preference. We usually have frozen breaded chicken in the freezer. You can also use precooked grilled chicken or pieces of rotisserie chicken as well. You will want your chicken cooked before putting into the blanket.

What Type of Dough Works Best?

It depends on what you have on hand or like to eat. Cresecent roll dough is typical for pigs in a blanket. But you can use puff pastry dough or pizza dough. You want a dough that will puff a little around the chicken.

Do I Need Shredded Parmesan Cheese?

You can use powder parmesan cheese, but I would only use parmesan cheese on the outside of the dough, not inside. Shredded or parmesan cheese should be used on the inside if you have it. Shredded parmesan chicken bites would not be the same though without some shredded parmesan cheese.

How Do I Use Garlic Powder?

Brushed on with melted butter after done baking. Melt 2 Tablespoons of butter with 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. Minced garlic can be used as well, but let the butter sit with the garlic to infuse while the bites bake.

Can I Start With Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts?

You can. I would suggest using my baked chicken recipes seasoning. Combine bread crumbs together, dip the chicken in and fry in a pan for crispy chicken. Then cut the chicken apart, or cut into pieces and cook until golden brown. Make your marinara sauce with tomato sauce or get your favorite marinara sauce from a jar.

Can I Use Chicken Nuggets?

Definitely! They are the perfect size to make chicken parm bites. I suggest using chicken nuggets that are made from tender chicken breast, but use the kind you love.
