How to Make Delicious and Easy Prime Rib Roast Recipe
Easy Prime Rib Roast Recipe
I’ve cooked prime rib a few times for my husband. It happens usually around the holidays, when it’s on sale. I’ve made it a couple ways. Here is an easy way to bake your own prime rib roast for the holidays. Or just because you want prime rib.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
Instruction:
Preheat the oven to 500F.
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients.
Place the mix onto the roast and coat it on all sides.
Take a baking rack and spray with vegetable oil spray and place it into a cookie sheet.
You want the roast to be lifted off the pan, to keep it from being in the drippings.
Place the roast on top of the baking rack.
How Long Do You Cook Prime Rib?
Cook the prime rib for 20 minutes at 500F, then turn the heat down to 325F.
You will want to cook for 20 minutes per pound (145 degrees for medium-medium rare, 160 for well done)
Once the the roast is cooked to your liking, remove from the oven and allow to rest for 20 minutes. This is important, and even though you may be tempted to cut in and serve, allow the meat to rest, and prepare your side dishes.
Have left overs? This would be great chopped and make into a vegetable beef barley soup.
Notes for cooking roast:
You will want to have the meat be at or near room temperature before you start seasoning.
Place the meat on a baking rack to lift the prime rib out of the melting fat.
You can let the prime rib rest in the oven for 20 minutes after it’s reached temperature (be sure to turn off the oven).
Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy the left overs. If there are any.
