Homemade Cherry Cobbler

cherries

2/3 cup for tart cherries

brown sugar

baking powder

teaspoon

room temperature butter
1/3
cup
hot tap water
sugar for topping off at end
Instructions
Preheat oven 375F
Preparing Cherries
In a large bowl , add the washed pitted cherries.
Add the lemon juice and mix.
Add the sugar, and cornstarch and stir to coat the cherries.
Place the cherries into a greased 8x8 (or 9x9) baking pan.
Preparing Cobbler Topping
In a bowl, mix the flour, white and brown sugar, salt and baking powder.
Add the hot water and butter and mix everything together.
Spoon or pour the mix on top of the cherries, covering the cherries as much as possible.
.Take the extra sugar and sprinkle on top. You can use raw or regular white sugar.
Place in oven and bake for 50-55 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow the cobbler to cool.
