Quick Cherry Cheese Danish with Puff Pastry

Ingredients

packing puff pastry
8
ounces
softened cream cheese
1/2
cup
powdered sugar
2
teaspoons
vanilla extract
1
can
cherry pie filling
1
Tablespoon
sugar (to sprinkle)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Unroll the puffed pastry onto parchment paper.
Roll pastry out slightly to flatten slightly (about 1 inch longer each direction)
Cut the puff pastry into 6 equal size triangles.
In a mixing bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until well blended.
Press an indent into each pastry using the back of a spoon.
Spread about 1 Tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into the middle of each puff pastry rectangle.
Add about a Tablespoon of cherry pie filling on top of the cream cheese mixture on the puff pastry.
Brush the edges of the puff pastry with water and sprinkle with white sugar.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown.
Allow to cool before serving.
