My kids are super picky, love pizza, but it can be expensive to buy every time they want some.
It makes a great leftover for school lunch, or even if you make it specifically for lunch. This will be something your kids will not want to trade with their friends.
I hate to right the kids to leave this alone after I made it, so I could at least take pictures. They were like flies whining and begging me to hurry up so they could eat this ENTIRE meal.
We got everything we needed from our local Kroger, so you can make this at your home to and have kids who are happy with what you put in their school lunch.
Approximate cost for this lunch: $2.02
What you’ll need:
Flat Bread (I used Stonefire’s whole grain)
1/4 cup Pizza sauce
other pizza toppings your family loves
Colby and Moneterey Jack cheese (you can use reduced fat cheese)
5 strawberries hulled
1/2 cup Cheez Its
1/2 cup mini Keebler fudge stripe cookies
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Have the pizza on a baking tray or pizza tray.
Spread the pizza sauce on the flatbread with the back of a spoon almost to the edge.
Take the cheese and spread over the pizza sauce evenly.
Add the toppings of your choosing to the pizza and place in the oven.
Cook for 15-20 minutes until the pizza is golden brown.
Cut into manageable piece for your kids to eat. Allow to cool completely for lunch or let the leftovers cool before putting away for lunch.
We placed the strawberries in a small Tupperware Freezer Mate, the cookies and Cheez Its in snack cups and the pizza fit on on a large sandwhich container from Tupperware.
This will be a meal your kids will ask you to make again and again.
