I was recently purusing the sales ads and noticed something interesting. A certain sports store in my town has advertised snow boots for 50%, and now they are Save $19.99 (about half their price). A great deal right?
Well, maybe not.
See I had seen this ad about a month ago and hurried in and bought my son these boots since his were too small. So I got him two pairs, one to grow into (since it’s 50% off!).
Then my daughter tells me her boots are too small about a week later. No sale. But I go into get her a pair and expect to pay full price. I found that the boots we got for my son, were not on sale, but were normal price of $21 (which was the advertised sale price about 2 weeks earlier). Not so much of savings.
I found boots similar for my daughter that were advertised as 55% clearance, which I now think is their regular store price.
My point being, watch the ads and really pay attention in the store. You could just be getting boots at regular price with a sale price sticker like me.
You ever find stores doing this in your area?
