What is the Best Beef For Making Tacos?
You can use skirt steak or flank steak to elevate your tacos (especially if you have left overs). We use ground beef with an 80/20 blend that is budget friendly and we always have some on hand.
How Do You Make Good Tacos at Home?
Good meat and great toppings make the taco. Elevate your taco from just meat and cheese and use of your favorite desired toppings like sour cream, guacamole, shredded lettuce, fresh cut tomatoes and fresh cilantro. You could add additional chopped onions to top your beef tacos if you want.

Do You Need to Use Tomato Juice in Your Tacos?
You can substitute 1 cup of water if you don’t have tomato juice. You can use it if you don’t like the taste of tomatoes too. Adding the liquid allows the taco seasoning to cover the ground beef and distribute the seasoning evenly.
How Do You Assemble A Taco?
You will want to have the ground beef cooked before you start assembling your taco and all your toppings ready to go.
Start by putting your base. A delicious warn corn or flour tortilla if you like soft shell tacos. Use a hard shell corn tortilla or a bed or tortilla chips (we recommend the bite size ones).
Next, put a light layer of shredded cheese down and then your taco meat. Add a little more shredded cheese and then your sour cream, cilantro, diced tomatoes. You can add chopped onion, salsa, black beans. A layer of refried beans is great too.
Can You Make Tacos With Other Meats?
Definitely. This recipe covers how to make ground beef tacos, but you can make chicken tacos with shredded cooked chicken or ground chicken or ground turkey. Chopped steak, skirt steak or flank steak also work. Adjust the spices and seasonings to your personal preference. Turkey or chicken tacos may take more spices.
