A big thanks to Meijer for inviting me to the Grand Taste at the Meijer LPGA Classic that is raising money for local food banks. All opinions are my own and my differ from yours.
Did you know that Meijer started in Greenville Michigan in 1934 during the depression. Meijer has grown through the years from a grocery store to also carry general merchandise. They are big in the mid-west of the United States and you don’t have to drive far to find a store in your area.
Have you been to the Grand Taste event at the Meijer LPGA Classic? You really need to check it out. During the tournament, there is a Grand Taste event. You purchase a ticket for the event that helps support the Simply Give program, Simply Give helps restock the shelves of food pantries in the areas Meijer serves.
helping local food banks
I love and have participated in the Simply Give program. Have you? You may have been shopping at Meijer and saw a sign that you can purchase a gift card that will donate money to the local food bank. It’s that simple.
You can also come to the Grand Taste event, eat some great food also and beverages and help out the community. At the Grand Taste event you get to enjoy over 40 of the best local restaurants breweries under one roof. There are some great Meijer food samples as well. You will not be disappointed!
You get a map of where everything is at, but just start on one side and work your away around. Stop and eat, rest and take over where you left off. I enjoyed walking around and meeting the chefs and staff and hearing about how they prepared the food. It was some of the best food I had ate! I will admit, I went for dessert first. I didn’t want to not have room. It was delicious.
Chef Dean Fearing demonstrated how to make the Pepsi Cola braised short ribs on bourbon creamed corn with Kraft natural pepperjack cheese and Tobacco onions on top. And while he was showing how to make, servers came out with samples for you to eat and try it! Bonus!
Meijer had beautiful displays of fruits and veggies. There were organic snacks to sample. You cannot go to Meijer, with visiting the Purple Cow either! The display was beautiful and there were even smoothie samples, Pepsi products to drink and water, of course. Just a great event that helps the local food banks.
There was so much to see, this doesn’t even cover it all. I would say if you are free, this is an event you need to grab your friends and go to. A great girls night out and you are helping such a great cause.
