No sew quilts are one of my favorte things to make. They are quick and simple to make. You can make this in 1-2 hours. This one took me an hour to make.
What you’ll need:
You will need 2 colors of fleece – 2 1/2 yards (for a longer quilt, 2 yards for a shorter quilt).
scissors
Cut off the ‘extra’ edge along your material. It is on 2 ends where it was connected to the machine to be woven.
Lay both pieces of fleece out. The bottom piece should have the good side upside down. The piece you lay on top, should have the good side facing up.
The edges need to line up on one side. You can trim them to be the same size, but one larger than the other is not going to matter when you start cutting (in my opinion).
You will need to cut once in strips about 4-5 inches deep along one edge. I found it works to cut about 6 strips and tie them. Cut more and tie them, so I don’t get lost in what I’m doing.
Tie the top and bottom of the strips you cut together. Tie it twice to make a knot. Repeat this all the way down the side.
You will notice that from one side to the next, it makes a square that you end up cutting off. This is O.K. Cut it out and work onto the next edge repeating the same steps.
When you are done, you will be amazed at how quickly it was complete. Your kids can help you (you do the cutting if they are young). My kids and I have made these and they loved helping and took pride in making them.
Enjoy!
