experience Cedar Point Halloweekends
Being a Cedar Point Blogger has had it’s perks. My family and I were invited to Cedar Point this past weekend and participated in the Cedar Point HalloWeekends celebration. Halloweekends are going on all month through Halloween. Cedar Point provided my family passes to check things out and provide our view of what we experienced.
When you take the thrill of a rollercoaster and the spooky/scary from Halloween, you come up with a pretty frightful event with Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends.
Things you need to know about Halloweekends:
- HalloWeekends, are just that. Only on the weekends.
- You don’t have to dress up to take part.
- It doesn’t require you to have little kids come to your house.
- Don’t like getting scared, you can purchase a no boo necklace for yourself or your kids and those walking the park, will leave you alone.
- There is a whole section of activities for young kids to do (very family friendly)
- Daytime is best for littles.
Family Friendly HalloWeekends
HalloWeekends is something you should at least see once. You need to experience the park decorated. They have semi-live entertainment and shows for the kids too. And it’s still kid friendly and frightfully scary…you pick which you want.
When you arrive at the park, you are given information on the #HalloWeekends with a map on where the HalloWeekends attractions are (and look for the signs). There are zones, frightful and family friendly.
I’m not into frightful and we had our kids with us (age 7 and 9).
My family enjoyed seeing the Monster Midway Invasion Celebration parade. Lots of beautifully done costumes. Check the schedule as to when it happens on Saturday and Sundays.

Cedar Point has many details in the decorations, you need to be on the look out for. The tombstones for instance, have names of old coaster rides. If you look in the background, you’ll notice an old car, lucky 13. It’s an old car they had in their scrap that they use in their display. Pretty cool huh?
There are also the semi-dead employees that are dressed as zombies. You’ll see them lurking around the park in various places. They give some pretty scary stares. They don’t touch you or your kids. And their silence is creepy too. Get the no boo necklace to keep them away!
I did not go and tour any of the scary stuff or into that Bayou. I did have some fellow blogger pals who went on it and they said it was pretty frightful. People jumping out at you. More frightening the darker it gets out. No spoilers here, you really need to experience yourself.
There are many photo opportunities. You will want to have your camera or phone with you to capture some great photo (and video) opportunities.
For the kiddos there is an opportunity to go trick or treating (costumes optional) at the Monster’s Trick-or-Treat. You don’t need to bring a bag or anything extra to carry. Cedar Point has it all taken care of. There are several stations and it’s free for the kids to take part in.
Dining is also a part of the experience. Check out Boeckling’s Banquet for a hauntingly good meal.
Sounds like you guys had a great time! The park is doing an excellent job catering to families.
We did! It was a great time! The kids definitely enjoyed all the family activities. My kids are not tall enough (or daring enough) for the bigger rides, but they had a blast and can’t wait to come back!
